| Background information: |
Bonzo mRNA expression has been localized to lymphoid tissues and activated peripheral blood lymphocytes, During progression of the infection, HIV1 infection relies upon interaction with a chemokine receptor, SIV also utilizes CCR5 in the early stages of infection, They are dependent upon an interaction between the viral envelope glycoprotein with T cell antigen T4 (CD4) and a G protein coupled receptor (GPCR), but during progression it tends to rely on two orphan GPCR's named chemokine (C-X-C) receptor 6 (Bonzo) and G protein coupled receptor 15 (BOB/GRP15), the virus tends to rely upon chemokine (C-X-C) receptor 4 (CXCR4), usually chemokine (C-C) receptor 5 (CCR5), Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Simian Immunodeficiency Virus (SIV) require coreceptors to enter and infect target cells |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
