| Background information: |
GOLGA7 also forms a complex with ZDHHC9 and, GOLGA7 is a widely expressed protein but its expression is absent from colon and thymus tissues, GOLGA7 is palmitoylated on two cysteine residues, It is the functional ortholog of the yeast Erf4 protein, Localizing to the Golgi apparatus, The palmitoylation of Ras proteins is essential for the trafficking of Ras proteins from the Golgi to the plasma membrane, and this palmitoylation is required for its interaction with golgin 160 and its Golgi-localization, these proteins function as a Ras palmitoyltransferase (Ras PAT) which is required for palmitoylation of H-Ras and N-Ras proteins, thus implicating GOLGA7 in protein transport from the Golgi to the cell surface, together, GOLGA7 is a multi-pass membrane protein belonging to the Erf4 family of proteins |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
