| Background information: |
Confocal immunofluoresence and electron microscopy studies have shown that syntaxin 13 is primarily localized to tubular early and recycling endosomes, Immunoprecipitation studies show that syntaxin 13 complexes with beta-SNAP, Syntaxin 13 has been found to be expressed in all tissues, The binding of this complex to alpha-SNAP and NSF is terminated in the presence of ATP, These results suggest that syntaxin 13 is a SNARE protein which mediates the recycling protein flow through tubulo vesicular recycling endosomes, VAMP2/3, a group of proteins involved in protein transport, and SNAP25, and it is also localized in endosomal vacuoles, lung, spleen, thymus and testes, where it colocalizes with transferrin receptor, with higher levels of the protein found in brain, Syntaxin 13 is an integral membrane protein that belongs to the t-SNARE family |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
