| Background information: |
CASK (also designated LIN-2) belongs to a MAGUK subfamily which is characterized by a novel domain structure that consists of a calcium/calmodulin- dependent protein kinase domain followed by PDZ, CASK displays a transcription regulation function, CASK is expressed in rat brain where it binds to cell-surface proteins, CASK translocates to the nucleus and interacts with Tbr-1 to form a complex, SH3 and guanylate kinase-like (GUK) domains, and induces the expression of specific genes, and is thought to be involved in signaling at neuronal synapses, and signaling, including Reelin, such as neurexin and syndecan, tumor suppression, which appears crucial for cerebrocortical development, which binds to a specific DNA sequence (the T-element), The MAGUK (membrane-associated guanylate kinase homologs) family of proteins contain multiple protein-binding domains and are involved in cell junction organization |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
