| Background information: |
RTP3 is a 232 amino acid single-pass type III membrane protein belonging to the TMEM7 family, RTP3 is involved in the functional expression of bitter taste receptors and suppresses cell proliferation, RTP3 is not expressed in olfactory neurons but is expressed predominantly in liver, The gene encoding RTP3 maps to human chromosome 3p21, Unlike other RTP proteins, and is also found in human circumvallate papillae and testis (regions where bitter taste receptors are expressed), which is frequently eliminated in chromosomal deletions of solid tumors, 31 within C3CER1 (chromosome 3 common eliminated region 1), Members of the RTP (receptor transporter proteins) family have recently been discovered to influence bitter taste receptor expression in addition to inducing the expression of mammalian odorant receptors |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
