| Background information: |
Both domains instigate neurite growth, By means of ectodomain shedding, In its proteoglycan form, Neurite growth stimulation is affected by both an EGF-like and an acidic amino acid domain found on the shed ectodomain, Neuro-glycan C is a single-pass membrane protein that can manifest as a part-time proteoglycan depending on the tissue expressing it, Neuroglycan C exhibits chondroitin sulfate glycans and functions as a receptor for midkine, a growth factor that binds heparin, however, the ectodomain of Neuroglycan C is able to enhance neurite outgrowth from neurons, these domains exhibit differing functionality as to number of neurites produced and neuron types stimulated, to affect cytoskeletal changes, Neuroglycan C is a brain-specific chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan (CSPG) implicated in the proliferation of neural stem and progenitor cells |

| Advisory: |
For antibodies that are in liquid form or reconstituted lyophilized antibodies small amounts could become entrapped on the seal or the walls of the tube, Prior to use briefly centrifuge the vial to gather all the solution on the bottom, specificity and sensitivity, thus reducing its reactivity, Avoid freeze/thaw cycles as they may denaturate the polypeptide chains of the antibody |

| Conjugation: |
Alexa Fluor |
| Group: |
Polyclonals and antibodies |
| About: |
The advantage is that there are more epitopes available in a polyclonal antiserum to detect the proteins than in monoclonal sera, immunohistochemistry on frozen slices or parrafin fixed tissues, Polyclonals can be used for Western blot |
